Professional Information
In 2005, I began my adventure in the teaching profession. I have had the pleasure and honor to have taught at Chapman Elementary School most of my teaching career. I taught English Language Development (ELD) for two years, sixth grade for seven years and Fine Arts for one. In addition to teaching, I subbed in the Chico, Durham and Oroville Unified School Districts in grades K through 12.

Personal Information
I am a busy mom of two little girls (Reese & Riley) who keep me on my toes. They continue to remind me why quality education and equal opportunities are important for all our children. I’m lucky to be married to my soul mate, Chris, who gave me this long, beautiful last name. I grew up in poverty, but that only motivated me to be proactive in bettering my future. Teachers helped lead the way for my success and I wanted to do the same for others, which is why I am a teacher today. I am excited to be part of the Marsh Team! Go Gators!

Professional information
I’ve been lucky enough to teach both primary and intermediate grades, and in several different communities throughout my 30 year career. I have been a presenter at the Northern California Reading Association Conference, and a trainer for the Developing Capable People Workshop Series. I’ve enjoyed many years of mentoring credential candidates through CSUC’s Student Teaching program. My experience and communication skills have enabled me to develop effective partnerships with students, parents, colleagues, and the community. As an educator, my job is to prepare children to live and work together in a changing world, and I believe that partnerships at several levels are essential in providing an educational environment where each student can meet his/her full potential.

Personal information
I love spending time with my husband, our children, and our animals. I’m a great cook, and I enjoy adapting old recipes to a healthier version. When the weather is nice, I love spending time outdoors, but cooler weather finds me indoors working on decorating, or home improvement projects.

Professional Information
I have been a 6th grade teacher for over 10 years. My areas of greatest experience are Earth Science and Ancient Civilizations.  During my time as a 6th grade teacher, I have prided myself on becoming a highly qualified teacher seeking new ways to grow in my profession.  Additionally, I find every way to be actively involved in the spirit of my campus.  I have been involved as a Student Council Advisor, Athletic Director, Site Council Member, and a coach.  Additionally I’ve helped in organizing school festivals, rallies, dances, charity fundraisers, and many other activities.  I am excited to bring my experience and passion for teaching middle school to the CUSD community.  6th grade students are my people, and I’m truly honored to move with them to the junior high.

Personal Information
I get to share my experiences in Chico Unified with my wife, Tamara Willard, who is a teacher at Little Chico Creek.  Being teachers in Chico Unified has been a career goal of ours.  I have a preschool-aged son and a daughter in kindergarten at Little Chico Creek.  My two children keep my evenings busy.  Whether it’s chasing each other around the house and building forts, or doing homework and reading, I love being a husband and father.  In my spare time, I enjoy working out at In-Motion, working around my house, and watching football.
