Cross County Running
Welcome to the Marsh Jr High Cross Country team: Our objectives are to run healthy and injury free, build running endurance, and to have fun! All students are welcome to participate regardless of fitness level or experience.
Show up ready to run: Good running shoes are required for practice and competition. If you are not sure what shoes are appropriate, ask your coach. Wear comfortable and weather appropriate clothes to practice. Athletes will need to change in the school restrooms before practice or wear appropriate running clothes to school.
Practice: Cross Country season will run from September 3rd to October 24th. Practices will be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:55 to 4:00 pm. Once meets start (September 19th) they will take the place of practice on Thursdays. We will start and finish on campus and run off campus most days. We will meet on the athletic field for warm up, students may leave their belongings in the multi purpose room. If the air quality index is deemed unhealthy, practice will be canceled.
Meets: See schedule below for times and locations. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from meets. We will wear Marsh race jerseys that athletes will check out and return to the coaches at each race.
***Please return the signed permission slip to the Coach at the first practice. If you would like to order a team shirt, fill out the attached form with $15.00 per shirt. Shirt order forms must be turned in by September 9th.
Up to date communication: The Band app is our primary form of communication. We will send out reminders and schedule changes as needed. Please download the app and join using this QR. This code is different from last year.

September 26: 3:15pm-5:00pm, Hooker Oak Park, Easter Cross Course.
Marsh vs Chico Junior High, Paradise Junior High, Achieve Charter
October 3rd: 3:15pm-5:00pm, One Mile (Sycamore field). Marsh vs Paradise Junior High, Nord Country Day School, Providence, Core, Achieve
October 10th: BUTTE COLLEGE INVITATIONAL, 3:45pm-5:30pm, Butte
College track entrance. Hosted by Butte College XC. All schools.
October 17: No meet or practice.
**Saturday, October 19th: AUTUMN INVITATIONAL, time TBA, Hooker Oak Park, Middle school Course (levee). Hosted by Chico High XC. All schools.
October 24th: 3:15pm-4:00pm, ALL SCHOOL MEET, Hooker Oak Park, Middle School Course (levee). All schools.
** Tuesday, October 22nd: Last practice and XC end of season party: 2:55- 4:00pm, run and then celebrate with pizza, games and refreshments on the athletic field.
